About Lisa

Jump to:

Hi there!  I’m Lisa – thanks for stopping by my blog!  I'm so glad you're visiting today!

When I was sixteen, I gave my life to the Lord; it was the best thing I could ever do.  He saved me and set my feet on the right path, and I am soooo thankful!  My passion is living for God, for I am His and He is mine.  I am bought with a price, and my desire is to glorify Him with my life.

January 2011
My husband and I are high-school sweethearts, and in the wonderful twenty-seven years since we’ve been married, the Lord has given us seven lovely children!  Kevin, my husband, is a missionary-evangelist, and has been serving the Lord as a preacher for almost thirty years, and I love serving the Lord by his side.  It is something I never regret, and I am thankful for the opportunity.

My Obsession
I was seized with an obsession even before my first child was born.  More than anything in this world, I desired to raise my daughter for the Lord, and see her grow to be a godly, happy, productive adult.  As the Lord added more children to our quiver, I wanted to pass on Biblical values to them, and I have been searching for Biblical methods of child training.  It is the driving force behind my quest for godly parents.

In the meantime, the Lord led my husband and I into an itinerant ministry, which has enabled us to rub shoulders with all sorts of wonderful people.  In the past ten years, we’ve been in almost every state in the continental United States, and to Canada as well.  We’ve been in about a thousand churches to minister, and have met tens of thousands of people.  I’ve been given the opportunity to find many godly parents and find their secrets.  I’ve talked to many of their adult children and discovered what their parents did right.

My Family

Immediate family (my husband and I and our children) in bold; our children's spouses in italics; grandkids underlined!
L to R: Top: My son Jonathan & his wife Brooke, my dad Doyle, Jason (8), my husband (Kevin) and I (Lisa)
Middle: Lydia (13), Sharon (17), Kathryn (25) holding her baby Luke
Bottom: Stephen (21), Johanna (11), our grandson Matthew (4), our son-in-law Matt (Kathryn's husband) holding our granddaughter Emily (who was very tired!)(3)

Let me introduce you to my seven wonderful children!

Kathryn, the oldest, is a 25-year-old pastor’s wife with three small children (Of course, that makes me a Grandma!!), and they live in Michigan.  Her husband, Matthew, is the best son-in-law in the entire world!  He is a pastor and a man of God and I thank God for him.

Emily (born 2008) and Matthew (born 2007) are happy sister and brother!

Adorable little Emily Grace...

...and Nana! :)
 Love my grandkids!
Jonathan (24) married a lovely young lady named Brooke in December of 2011 and they are so happy together!  They are living in Mississippi and Jonathan is working towards becoming a missionary bush pilot.

Stephen (22) is living in Indiana serving the Lord at a church, and is engaged to be married to a sweet girl named Jessica!  He proposed on Christmas Day '11 and they plan a July 2012 wedding.

My 17 year old daughter, Sharon, is the oldest child who still travels with us.  She is the brains behind this site (thank you, Sharon!!), and my companion in exercise.

Lydia, 13, is the sunshine of the home and a bright student as well...

...while Johanna, 11, is already an excellent cook.

And our 8-year old, Jason, keeps us all in stitches by alternating between being goofy and getting tickled by Dad.

100% BOY!!!
He's a monkey man! :)

Jason was only 3 when he became an uncle!  He and nephew little Matthew are happy playmates together.
Let me tell you, I am blessed!

I absolutely love what we do.  The Lord called the Raub family to reach the military in 1986, and we started a church in Pennsylvania before going on deputation in 1992.  Since then by God's grace we have started 2 additional churches near military bases.  Our ministry, Eagles Wings Military Ministry, was founded in 1993.  Since 2004 we have been privileged to help churches at over 30 military bases around the country (plus Canada and Australia) to develop outreach ministries to their local military through Operation NAAMAN.  With the encouragement of godly Chaplains, we establish Bible studies, encourage families, and train single military personnel to be ardent warriors for the Savior.  It is truly exciting and rewarding to be working with the cream of America’s young people…the military!  (Did I say I LOVE it?! :D)

(You can read more about us and what we do at our ministry website!)

This is home for us!  We are full time on the road in our 40 ft. converted bus that we have come to love. <3

Ministry is not always without trials, as in the case of our September 2010 bus accident.  But it has truly been worth it all!

Things I Love
Besides ministering to the military, I LOVE being with my family!  I enjoy homeschooling my 4 children still at home, and LOVE singing together as a family!  I love running, especially on nature trails when I can find them, and I try to keep myself somewhat in shape…wherever I happen to be.  My conflicting love is Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets!
